If ‘Dragon Fireball’ always bloomed like the picture, it would be a great cultivar. However, it sports different looking blooms, some anemone form, but others semi-double and resembling ‘Tama Glitters’ or other ‘Tama’ cultivars.

GROWER NOTES:
This picture doesn't do justice to this bloom. But as the name implies, it is a fantastic bloom. Leaves are boat shaped and fairly large.

Elsie Jury is a beautiful pink peony bloom and is one of my favorites. Good show bloom.

GROWER NOTES:
This is the first known successful cross between a japonica and the specie ‘Granthamiana’ made by Walter Homeyer in 1974. I like it. It is different and it gets a lot of attention. Plant grows okay but maybe a little slow.

As the name implies, it is highly fragrant. Right now I would say it is the most fragrant of the hybrids we grow. Bloom is very nice too.

GROWER NOTES:
A very nice variegated lavender pink & white bloom sometimes confused with Julie which is not variegated. The plant is vigorous and often leggy in its growth habit.

JULIE VARIEGATED
Salmon pink to peach pink variegated white. Medium to large peony form to rose form double. Average dense upright growth. Mid season bloom.

JURY'S YELLOW
White with cream yellow petaloids. Medium, anemone form. Average, compact, upright growth. Early-late season.
GROWER NOTES:
This name is a little misleading. It is not yellow. It's a white anemone with the center petaloids having a slightly yellow cast. This was an early introduction before crosses occured with nitidissima sp.

KAGIROHI
Medium yellow, formal double form from Japan (c. jap. Silver Chalice x c. nitidissima) Medium, mid season bloom.
Not cold hardy - Zones 8b, 9 outside.
GROWER NOTES:
Due to its c. nitidissima parentage it is not cold hardy. Also flower bud set is inconsistent, but when it does bloom it is an outstanding true yellow.

MARY PHOEBE TAYLOR
Light rose pink. Very large peony form. Average open upright growth. Early to mid season bloom.
GROWER NOTES:
This New Zealand introduction does well in our middle Georgia area. The bloom is usually simply a semi double but sometimes it will be peony in form. Stamens will turn from bright yellow to dark yellow/brown within 1 or 2 days of opening.

Light pink toned deep pink. Minature single. Medium, upright, somewhat loose growth habit. Fragrant. Early to mid season bloom.
GROWER NOTES:
I like this bloom. It draws one's eye with it's deep pink buds and simple bloom and it is one of the more fragrant hybrids.

Probably the darkest red bloom. Always draws interest. New growth is also a deep red, turning green as leaves mature.

OPTICAL ILLUSION
Yellow with pink overtones. Medium formal double with strap-like petals that can be arranged in a somewhat spiral pattern. Not cold hardy—Zones 8B, 9 outside
GROWER NOTES:
One of my favorites among the tropical yellow crosses. I have seen it with strap-like petals, and swirl pattern. In 2019 I showed it at 4 shows and it won its category (medium, protected) all 4 times, advancing to Best in Show in the Atlanta show.
